Partner Profile: Triple Tree Solutions

Triple Tree Solutions provides fully customisable Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) solutions that integrate every aspect of the supply chain into one comprehensive system, enabling companies to manage their operations with speed, transparency and accuracy.

Developed over decades of experience in sourcing operations with over 150 clients, Triple Tree’s cloud-based product quality and CSR management apps, QUONDA and VMAN, generate real-time reports from inspections and audits, simultaneously flagging any inconsistencies picked up by algorithms to prompt corrective action.

Who are you?

I am Deniz Thiede, Managing Director of ATICS GmbH, a member of the Matrix Sourcing Group and Triple Tree Solutions. I take care of all the activity in Europe, Hong Kong and the USA.

Where do you operate?

Our head office is in Pakistan, with further ones in Germany, Spain and New York.

What is your mission?

Our mission is to shed more light on textile supply chains. We are active in the Asian subcontinent of India, Pakistan and Bangladesh – places which aren’t known for their transparency and sustainable business practices, yet.

How did you start and when?

Triple Tree Solutions was established in 2015 but the foundations of the mother company, Matrix: a cutting edge ethical buying office linking clients to reliable suppliers, were laid in the early 1990s. Mr Azfar Hasan, the founder, helped Levi’s open their first office in Pakistan and was subsequently asked if he’d like to move to the US and join the Levi’s organisation, but he preferred to stay in Pakistan and support his country. That was when he started to establish his own transparency-focused sourcing office.

What are your services and products, how do they work?

Sourcing, quality inspection and IT solutions are our three main service areas. As Matrix, we match customers who are sourcing a specific product to a vendor who meets their requirements – like a partnering agency. Quality inspection is covered by the Triple Tree Solutions subsidiary, for example, if a customer is not happy with their existing vendor then we can go to the factory, find the issue and help the vendor overcome it. We started developing IT solutions in the mid-1990s purely to manage our own activities and since then our tools developed in such a fantastic way that in 2014 we made our first software sale to MGF Sourcing (Abercrombie & Fitch, Hollister, American Eagle Outfitters etc.) who use our quality management inspection system, Quanda, to carry out inspections in China. It was then that we saw a huge potential in the market for our IT solutions.

Who are your clients and customers?

On the sourcing side our clients include Nike, Marks & Spencers, the Inditex Group (Zara) and Peek und Cloppenburg. Levi’s, J-Crew and the Hohenstein Institute (founder of Oeko-Tex 100) use our quality inspection systems, and while our IT solutions come from a textiles background, our transparency tools have also been adopted further afield by aid and governmental agencies.

Who would you like to collaborate with?

We are very interested in partnerships with sourcing and quality inspection companies in locations where we are not present, like Italy, Portugal and Turkey. With the transparency tools, we’d like to be involved in more projects that aren’t necessarily textiles-related.

Do you work with smaller companies as well?

It depends on what kind of support the company needs. For example, one of our customers, Morotai is a sportswear startup that was already producing in Pakistan, and after encountering some problems with quality, they came to us for support on the production side. If a brand wants to source 150 T-shirts for a one-time job, it wouldn’t be sustainable to go to Pakistan, so we would recommend that they source this from a closer factory with smaller minimums.

What do you want to achieve in the future?

Continue to improve transparency in supply chains and make our sourcing services more digital: we are currently working on a platform so that customers can source from Pakistan at their desktops.
