UPDATE: We are going virtual | Circular Design Sprint | Call for Participation

News

In light of the current situation, our previously announced Circular Design Sprint will take place as a hybrid event (digital and physical). Hosted by the Dutch Embassy and facilitated by circular.fashion we organise a virtual workshop all around circular fashion with regard to the use of new materials which addresses the need for multi-stakeholder collaborations. Creatives and experts from the fashion industry will have the chance to participate in a two weeks virtual design sprint and circular fashion training followed by a physical event on the 1st of October 2020 where you can get new insights through presentations on Circular Economy initiatives from both Dutch and German policy makers. We are calling on all designers, producers, businesses, policymakers, industry representatives, researchers, consultants and even students to be part of our first hybrid event. Join one of the 5 interdisciplinary teams that will work on a product challenge ideating on the question:

How might we re-design a product according to circular design principles?

A design thinking inspired methodology is setting the frame of the workshop. Facilitators will introduce method kits and training sessions, coaches will support the challenges and tasks with regular check-ins to the digital collaboration environment. The interdisciplinary teams are working hands-on in phases of ideation, prototyping, testing and iteration and present their final concepts in a wrap up session at the end of the virtual sprint. The kick off for the circular design training will take place on the 27th of May and will be wrapped up on the 10th of June 2020

Want to meet your fellow team members? Then join us for the event on 1st of October 2020 which will be open up for the broader public. You will have the opportunity to network with key stakeholders of the industry, listen to presentations on the  key takeaways from the workshop and on Circular Economy initiatives from policy makers of the Netherlands and Germany followed by panel discussions.

Join us and let’s redesign fashion for circularity with new materials together! The participation is free, yet spaces are limited. Apply for your spot here or email our Event Manager Chrissy at christine@sqetch.co until the 27th of April 2020!

All the best,

Your Sqetch Team
